Beauty is, as you know, a relative concept. After all, for everyone this means something different: someone wants to be different in what nature has given, and someone strictly follows fashion, sometimes going to extremes. In this article, I want to talk about who the victims of fashion are and what needs to be done in order not to join this category of people.
A bit of history
As mentioned above, beauty is different for everyone. And in every era, its canons were somewhat different. Moreover, they varied even according to the place of residence of people. Interestingly, this concept arose in the 18th century. Then "fashion victims" were called girls who, in severe frosts, ran out into the street in chiffon dresses in order to just show off. "Why victims?" - a logical question may arise. And all because often after that these beauties caught pneumonia, which at that time was still an incurable disease.
Now it's worth delving a little into history. As for Europe, in the Middle Ages a woman had toto be thin and exhausted in order to appear beautiful (asceticism was the main rule of the Catholic Church of those times). In the Renaissance, girls who were not afraid to undress (the cult of the body) and had magnificent forms were considered as such. A little later, a beautiful lady was supposed to have a pale, thin face - this is what distinguished noble and we althy women from commoners. However, summing up a little, I would like to say that almost all of this is unnatural, unhe althy. Women who followed this trend can be called its victims.
Historical victims of fashion are also women representatives of African tribes who deliberately stretched their necks, putting ring after ring on them (rings could be removed, and then the neck broke - sometimes husbands punished their wives for certain offenses). In many tribes and nationalities, it was customary to deform the skulls of babies so that they acquire the desired shape (this was easy to do, because the bones of children are very mobile and can be deformed). In history, there are people with elongated heads - acrocephals, triangular-shaped skulls - trigonocephals, etc. Another victims of fashion in history are Chinese women who deformed their feet for a long time to appear more attractive and valuable in the bride market. Such legs were called "lotus" and the smaller they were, the better. However, the very process of deformation and achieving such dubious beauty was very painful, in great agony.
Modernity
Today there are also girls who are victims of fashion, althoughmodern deformities are associated not only with changes in one's own body, but simply with the style of clothing. Why is this happening? Everything is simple. Fashion for its intended purpose is not created for all people who walk the earth. So, many of the outfits and dresses that take part in high fashion shows are in fact not only uncomfortable to wear, but also not very beautiful. But now, after watching the next issue of fashion shows, the girl decides: I will look fashionable if I put on that outfit. And runs to the seamstress. This is a huge mistake, because this is how fashion victims arise, which become a great example of how not to do it (after all, an outfit will look completely different on a tall thin model than on a short fat one).
The same, for example, may apply to cosmetics. A bright make-up for a photo shoot is a great way out. But if a girl paints her eyes with yellow shadows, picks up pink lipstick for them and goes outside, it will look at least strange, and, of course, ugly.
Body
Often, fashion victims try to change through plastic surgery, strictly following the canons of beauty. Big breasts, big lips, big eyes - all this is now very relevant. But only if all this was given by nature. But sometimes, in pursuit of beauty, a lady does not understand that in this way she not only disfigures herself, but also ruins her own he alth. How can one not remember how relevant and fashionable it is now to be thin! In this pursuit, ladies often go too far, bringing themselves to a half-dead state and acquiring suchillness like anorexia. Dealing with the latter, by the way, is not so easy.
Crank or fashion victim?
However, not all people can be called victims of fashion. It is worth saying that if a person has his own specific style and constantly adheres to it, this can be called extravagance, originality (however, this applies more to show business people than ordinary citizens). It is also worth saying that there is a “fashion victim” style that can perfectly emphasize a person. These people include newsmaker Sergei Zverev, whose outfits are sometimes simply amazing, but completely create his own star style. The same can be said about Lyudmila Gurchenko, who, in pursuit of youth, sometimes simply went too far with her youthful outfits, but in this way she created her own special style of clothing.
Clothes by age
What else can disfigure a woman so much that she can be included in the list of “Victims of Fashion”? Photos show that for this it is enough to even wear clothes that are not age-appropriate. And if a girl wants to look older, she will wear more strict and classic clothes - that's nothing. But when a lady of Balzac age puts on a red pleated skirt and a top that ends immediately under a lush chest, it's just ugly. The same can be said about the ladies who imagine themselves to be Barbie, even regardless of age. Such representatives of the fair sex can hardly be called beautiful and, most likely, they can be attributed to the victims of fashion.
Ohpsychology
Why are girls sometimes so zealous that they become victims of fashion? Psychologists say that the main problem of such ladies is self-doubt, dissatisfaction with their own appearance. This is what they try to compensate for with clothing or various other aids.
How to look fashionable and stylish?
Are there specific tips on how to avoid being labeled a "fashion victim"? Of course. So, there are three main rules, following which, a girl will never join the ranks of dubious beauties. The first of them: you should not unconditionally follow the advice from fashion magazines. This is because a certain outfit is not suitable for all body types. Having no experience in choosing the right outfits, you can fly well and become at least ugly.
Second rule: when entering a fashion boutique, do not rush to promotional goods or things with discounts, just to buy clothes "from Dior". Most often, collections of past years or what is currently becoming irrelevant are put up for sale.
Well, the last rule is the most important: do not be afraid of bold experiments. Only in the search for yourself and your style can you find what you want and what you like. And, of course, it is worth remembering that not all that adorns a woman that fashion designers offer at shows.
Movie
And for those who are interested in fashion designers, you can watch the movie "Gianni Versace: Fashion Victim". However, hereunfortunately, it will not be about the path to fame of the well-known couturier, but about his murder. Why it happened, who is to blame for this and why today crime is becoming one of the ways to become famous - this is what the footage of this film will tell about.
