Arriving at the store before the next coloring, women find it difficult to see the widest range of hair coloring products. This unites all the fair sex: brunettes, blondes and brown-haired women. When choosing hair dye, most women are guided by brand fame and hair color on the package, others pay attention to the price and the name of the shade. But only a few attach importance to the numbers next to the name, because most do not understand their meaning. But if you do not know such subtleties, there is a risk of getting a different shade on your hair than on the package, especially in the case of a radical change in image.
The meaning of the digital code on the package
Different brands, denoting the main part of the tone shades presented in their palette, use two or three numbers:
- the first digit means the depth (darkness) of the color - from dark to light, from 1 to 10;
- second digit (separated from the first by a dot or a fraction sign) - the code of the main tone of the paint;
- third digit - designation of an additional shade (its content in the paintat least half of the main tone).
Marking, where only one or two digits are used, excludes the presence of extraneous shades, which is a sign of an exceptionally pure tone.
For example: 2.0 is the number of black paint in the palettes of professional and many household coloring products.
First digit of the code
The paint palette contains ten tones of the natural range:
- 2 - black paint color number;
- followed by dark brown;
- brown hair;
- light brown;
- dark blond;
- blonde;
- light blond;
- blonde;
- very light blonde.
Some manufacturers include tone 11 or 12 in their palette, which means that the paint has a strong lightening effect.
Sometimes in the palettes of coloring agents there is a tone called "deep black" - paint number 1.0.
Second digit of the code
The first, after a dot or a fraction, is followed by a number indicating the main shade in the dye:
- number 0 is in the range of natural tones;
- 1 means the presence of a blue pigment in the paint - a series of ashy shades (black blue paint - number 2.1);
- 2 - green pigments (matte shades);
- 3 - yellow or orange pigment (golden hues);
- 4 - means a range of copper shades;
- 5 - red pigment;
- 6 - purple pigment;
- 7 - brown pigment;
- 8 - blue-violet pigment (pearl series).
Thirdcode number
The presence of the third digit in the code designation of the paint indicates the presence of an additional shade in the composition of the coloring pigment, in addition to the main one, which makes the color more interesting and deeper. The correspondence of a digit to a subtone is built according to the same principle as for the second digit. For example, tone 7.46 is light brown copper-violet.
Letter symbols
On some paints, the color is indicated using Latin letters (instead of numbers).
The letter code should be decoded in this way:
- A - super brightening tone;
- С - ashy;
- E - beige;
- G - golden;
- F or V - purple;
- I - intense tones;
- K - copper;
- M - matte;
- N - natural;
- R - red;
- W - brown.
Such different brunettes
These girls are called fatal beauties, because the rich and deep shade of hair gives them an attractive mystery. At the service of dark-haired young ladies there is a wide palette of shades: chestnut, plum, eggplant, dark red and red-brown, blue-black and the classic color of a raven's wing.
In order to surely shine with the beauty of your hair after dyeing, when choosing, it is better to be guided by the digital designation of the paint tone. After all, now you know which number is black.
The ability to decipher the paint shade code greatly facilitates the choice. But it is important to choose a product taking into accountfeatures of the structure and color of the hair at the moment: what and what color they are dyed or highlighted, whether there is highlighting, their porosity and the presence of damage.
