Arrows are probably the most popular and versatile type of eye makeup. There are an incredible variety of options for arrows - clear lines drawn with a pencil or eyeliner, shaded, arrows with shadows or drawn with a liner, thin or thick, long or short, cat's eye or concise - the choice is so wide that any girl will be able to choose the very ideal shape and length.
There is an opinion that it is difficult to draw good arrows, they say, the thickness must somehow be adjusted, and the length, and the cat's eye is just terrible, it is impossible to draw in the same way. But it is possible to refute these tales with confidence. There is nothing complicated about arrows.
The most popular now is makeup with a feathered arrow. You will learn how to draw it by going through a small master class in this article.
Required brushes
One of the keys to good makeup is choosing the right brushes. To make makeup with a feathered arrow, you will need these brushes:
- bevelled;
- flat;
- thin outnatural pile;
- large blending brush;
- small blending brush.
It's good if you have a miniature brush with a pointed tip, because this is the most convenient option in this case. In addition, you will need a brush for applying concealer and powder.
Shaded arrow
As a rule, gel eyeliner is used for eye makeup at home when making arrows. After application, it is recommended to blend it with a thin, flat, beveled brush. However, beginners in makeup often face a problem: eyeliner is not the most mobile makeup tool, it can be very difficult to make a smooth transition. Therefore, first try a simple option - an arrow with shadows.
Loose shadows are light, easy to blend, hold great with a few makeup rules, and also look very nice and not as harsh as a rich black liner or gel eyeliner. A look with arrows made by shadows is soft, velvety, open.
Preparing the eyes
So, let's find out together how to blend the arrows on the eyes. Eye makeup begins in the same way as usual. Apply foundation on the eyes, fix the layer with powder. Add concealer if necessary. Next, do the eyebrow shaping.
After applying a primer to the moving eyelid, thanks to which the shadow will last longer and look brighter. You can use basic skin shadows instead. They canjust apply with your finger. Fix the layer with cream or beige shadows.
Arrow
Next, to make the arrows even, take the tape. Cut off a small even piece, apply it to your hand several times so that it attaches well to the skin and is also easy to remove.
Stick the tape like a stencil, in the direction of the future arrow. Next, take a beveled flat brush and apply a matte shadow of a dark shade on it, universal black is best. Starting from the inner corner of the eye, draw an arrow, based on the stencil. Duplicate the arrow again for better coloration, then work on the upper mucosa with a black soft pencil.
Shading
Next, let's make a smooth transition to the shadows. On a small brush, pick up some brown shadows of a warm shade and blend the borders of the arrow with them. Be careful not to shade the arrow itself, but only its border, otherwise you will get dirt.
The warm matte shade of brown eyeshadow makes for a beautiful border. An arrow with shading can reach half the eyelid, its width already depends on your preferences and the structure of the eye.
Further on with the same brush, take dark brown shadows and apply to the middle of the eyelid with trampling non-extinguishing movements. You only need to complete the arrow with dark pigment. So the arrow will turn out to be as accurate and aesthetically attractive as possible.
Now take a large eyeshadow blending brush and pick up some light taupe andwork out the crease of the upper eyelid. It is extremely important at this stage not to touch the feathered arrow, so be careful. Clean up the shading with light beige shadows to make it look neater.
Now remove the adhesive tape, which played the role of a stencil and protected from spilling shadows, walk at the arrow with concealer, following the straight line of the arrow. Set everything with powder. If desired, make-up with a feathered arrow can be supplemented by emphasizing the lower eyelid with dark shadows. Bring it down with a thin blending brush. Then carefully paint over the eyelashes with mascara from the very tips, having worked out the outer corner of the eye. Eyelashes can be supplemented with tufts or false eyelashes.
Eye makeup is ready. It remains only to pick up lipstick and fix everything with a fixative spray.
Makeup Tips
Creating a quality image is pretty hard the first time if you are a beginner. Shading the shadows right away may not work. Don't despair, just try again. By the way, to make your makeup look really good, here are some tips from professionals:
- If you use a pencil for eye makeup, it is better to apply it before the shadows, and they will not crumble.
- When shading the pigment, dust particles of shadows fall on the cheeks. To prevent this from happening, put a napkin on and boldly take on eye makeup.
- Internal eyeliner is best done at the very end, especially if you have sensitive eyes.
- Before you start makeup, try the product on your hand to make surethe right choice of product. As we have said, the consistency determines how well the product will be distributed over the surface of the skin.
Lipstick
Makeup with a feathered arrow can be complemented with absolutely any lipstick. With such eyes, nude shades are perfectly combined, neutral ones look nice. For everyday makeup, lip glosses are suitable, resistant matte lipsticks and metallic ones look relevant. Bright lips of provocative shades will also be appropriate.
