Many girls want to bring something new into their lives, to change outwardly, with any changes in their lives or even just a change in the weather. First of all, hair color or hairstyle is often changed. There are many shades of coloring agents of a wide variety of brands - from cheap to elite. However, the most popular is hair lightening. Many girls dream of blond curls, which, of course, emphasize femininity, give their owner a fragile look.
Among the inexpensive and affordable means for carrying out such a procedure as lightening hair, hydrogen peroxide is in the first place. You can buy it at any pharmacy for a fairly small amount. It is relatively safe compared to powerful hair lightening products, depending on the duration of its use, it can provide varying degrees of lightening.
Let's look at how hair is lightened. Hydrogen peroxide, penetrating into the hair, creates a chemical reaction, as a result of which the color of the pigment changes. The darker your natural hair color, the more treatments will be required to achieve a visible result. The lighter your hair is initially, the faster it will lighten.
How should I lighten my hair?
Hydrogen peroxide is taken 3%. This is the safest option. It may not work on dark hair, so you should try 8-12% peroxide. However, only if your hair is he althy, strong and can withstand such a procedure. Peroxide is poured into a spray bottle and then sprayed onto individual strands, which are stabbed after treatment. The solution stays on the hair for 30 minutes, then it is washed off and a balm is applied to the hair.
Use extreme caution when using hydrogen peroxide, as it can cause skin burns. To avoid this, you need to add a few drops of ammonia: about 5 drops per 50 ml of peroxide. Do not add more to avoid a red tint.
In order to lighten hair without harm, hydrogen peroxide should be used correctly, observing certain safety precautions:
- hydrogen peroxide should not be stored in metal containers;
- don't use peroxide if you have sensitive scalp;
- don't use peroxide if you have split ends.

After completing the procedure, rinse your hair with a weak solution of apple cider vinegar or water with lemon juice (or citric acid). This will fix the effect, close the hair scales, make them smoother and shinier, and also neutralize the residual effects of hydrogen peroxide.
Is it safe to lighten hair with hydrogen peroxide? Reviews of girls who used this method of coloring say that the hair becomes more porous, damaged, split ends appear, they are rather weakened and often break. Hair loss can also be a side effect in some cases.
