Ripped jeans are at the peak of popularity today, but not always in stores you can find exactly what you want: either the color is not right, then the model is not the same, and if you are lucky enough to find what you need, then the scuffs turn out to be not in the places you would like. No need to despair! There are several ways to rip jeans at home to turn your favorite, but already somewhat fed up model into a fashion trend, and make holes in the places you see fit. Plus, it will save you money.
Option one
Before tearing jeans, they must be laid out on a flat, hard surface, such as a table. Having decided on the place where the scuff should be, put some hard but flat object under it (inside the leg), for example, a piece of cardboard, plywood or plastic.
Next, cut a hole across the trouser leg with an ordinary clerical knife. Don't try to do it the first time. It is better to go over the same place several times until you get the desired result so that the fabrictorn gradually.
Second option
This method is one of the oldest, it allows you to tear jeans without taking them off, unless, of course, scuffs are provided in front, for example, on your knees.
To do this, you need a rough object, which can be a brick, sandpaper, rough stone (rough pumice). You need to rub until the fabric begins to spread itself, forming holes. It is important not to overdo it, as the wear should be uniform. I must say that the scuffs made in this way look natural, formed in the process of wearing. Although everything, of course, depends on what effect you want to achieve.
Third option
Using a needle or nail scissors, you just need to pull the threads where the hole is intended. In this case, the edges are more "furry".
A few general recommendations
Regardless of which of the above options you choose, before tearing the jeans, it is better to wet them well, and after the work done, wash them - this way all holes and scuffs will look even better.
To create the look you want, choose models from medium-weight fabrics, as thin summer jeans will come apart after the next wash, and on insulated versions on fleece, the "flaw" will look ridiculous.
Do it on jeans before starting the process of basting with tailor's chalk, especially if the cuts are supposed to be symmetrical. Please note that inthey will tear even more when worn, so it is important not to overdo it.
To make the model look more harmonious, you can also make scuffs along the bottom edges of the legs and pockets, or make a few holes in the belt.
Washed holes or scuffs will look especially impressive and stylish. To achieve this effect, bleach must be applied to the desired places before tearing the jeans, and then washed.
