This model gained popularity in the armies of European countries in the middle of the 19th century, after which it passed into daily use. This is the exact opposite of oxfords, dubbed the "derby".

Brogues are men's summer shoes that have evolved over five centuries from practical to official. Initially, they were intended to move through the swamps. "Atavism" in the form of a perforation that once helped to easily get rid ofwater, currently performs exclusively decorative functions, being the main feature of this type of footwear. There are several types of brogues:
• Wingtips are the most recognizable model, with a W-shaped overlay on the toe. It can be made in one color, as well as in contrasting heel and toe.
