The effect of "marmalade" for nail design is a new original type of manicure using gel polish. The technique of applying marmalade is very simple, anyone who is familiar with the basics of gel polish manicure can master it.
A variety of "marmalade" manicure
In the form of material "marmalade" is a multi-colored powder or sand. It differs from acrylic powder in the large size of the grains of sand. And because of the larger texture, the “marmalade” is slightly rough to the touch. The popularity of this manicure is growing every day, and today the palette of colors is already more than 35 colors.
Using marmalade for nail design, you can make two different manicures:
- marmalade effect;
- effect of "candied" nails.
Both types of nail design will look appetizing, bright and unusual. These two "sweet" manicures are distinguished only by the method of application, which is described below.
Creating a marmalade effect
When creating a gel polish manicure, you needcarefully follow the instructions for its use. It depends on how durable the manicure will be. We provide step-by-step instructions on how to apply marmalade for nail design yourself and at home:
- The first step is to prepare your nails well, that is, to do a basic manicure. It is necessary to give the nails the desired shape and carefully process the cuticle.
- Nail plates before applying gel polish should be as even as possible, so we apply a buff on them.
- The next step is to treat the nails with a degreaser. Once applied, the nail plate must not be touched.
- Primer is applied to the nails. This is done in order to open the scales of the nail plate. So the interaction with the gel polish will become as dense as possible. After applying the primer, you must wait until the nail turns white.
- We apply a transparent base, send the nails to dry under an ultraviolet lamp. Drying time is indicated in the instructions for the base. After drying, remove the sticky layer.
- Next, a colored layer is applied. It should not be very thick, so that when it dries, it does not drip or crack. Drying it also occurs under an ultraviolet lamp. Then we do not erase the sticky layer, but proceed to applying the powder.
- Apply colored sand to the sticky layer and gently rub it in with a brush. Then we brush away the excess material.
- We cover the nail plates with a topcoat and dry in an ultraviolet lamp for two minutes.
Herethis is how the “marmalade” nail design is obtained, the photo of which we see in the article. Everything is pretty quick and simple, the main thing is to remember the sequence.
Creating Candied Marigolds
The sequence of performing a "sugar" manicure is not much different from the technique of performing "marmalade" for nail design. Several nuances change.
Points 1-5 are repeated exactly as for "marmalade", but in point 6 the final step will be the complete removal of the sticky layer and obtaining a completely finished nail. After that, we apply a base (rubber) on the nail plate and sprinkle it with powder on top. Do not spare the consumable by applying it to the nail. Then we send it to the lamp for 2 minutes. And we get ready-made "sugar" marigolds. Remaining material can be easily removed with a brush. There is no need to additionally cover the nail plate with a “finish”.
In the instructions for creating the marmalade style for nail design, it is indicated that the colored gel polish is applied in one layer. But if there is a need to apply a second layer to create a pattern or increase the color density, then no one forbids doing this.
