Acrylic pedicure technology
Procedure for acrylic modeling:
- Standard nail preparation (free edge filing, eponychium cleaning, burr removal, cuticle removal, shine removal with 240 grit buff, degreasing, primer treatment).
- Setting the form.
- A ball of camouflage acrylic is laid out in the middle of the nail and distributed across the entire width, entering the form and modeling the free edge.
- On all nails, except for the thumb, camouflage is brought to the cuticle. For the thumb, a ball of transparent acrylic is taken and fills the line from the middle of the nail to the cuticle.
- Sawdust.
- Polishing or clear gel coating.

Gel modeling
You can lengthen your nails with both gel and acrylic. But masters are increasingly choosing gel toenail extensions. In salon conditions, it is easier, it is designed for most designs, it is not afraid of nail polish remover. Sometimes the tips of the nails do not allow you to substitute the shape, and their length is not enough to glue the tips. Gel is convenient to draw a French pedicure. This can be done in both gel and acrylic techniques. A white strip is applied before the top coat, cured for 2-3 minutes in a UV lamp and 1 minute in an LED.
Toenail extensions on forms
Gel application technique:
- Preparing the nail and setting the forms is the same as in the acrylic technique.
- Apply base gel and curing in UV or LED lamp for 2 minutes or 30 seconds respectively.
- Covering all fingers, except for the thumb, is done with one drop. In order not to have to file the gel that has flowed onto the cuticle, the work is carried out quickly, but clearly. The first drop of the camouflage gel is applied to the middle of the nail and distributed first at the cuticle, making a smooth movement towards it with the brush and rolling back to the middle of the nail. The brush is not pressed, all work is carried out in the air, the gel reaches for the brush. The next two movements are similar - on one side and the other, the brush goes from the middle to the corner of the nail and returns to its place. Now the brush comes to the side of the nail, goes through the middle to the other side, returns to the middle and stretches the gel onto the form. If the gel on the brush is over, now it is applied again, you need a little. A free edge of the desired length is formed. Polymerize for 2 minutes, one nail at a time to avoid flowing onto the side rollers.
- Toe nail extension: a three-drop coating is formed. The first is the free edge: the brush is placed in the middle of the nail, lowered onto the mold and made movements towards the side rollers. The second drop builds the structure of the nail, this is the area of the lateral ridges and the apex. The third drop is a transparent structural gel, it is applied near the cuticle. Cure 2 minutes in a UV lamp.
- Sawdust.
- Top gel top coat. Cure 3 minutes in UV lamp and 30 seconds in LED lamp.
Home operations
In the event that you need a hygienic pedicure, it is not necessary to visit the salon. But what if the corner of the nail broke off, the edges were accidentally cut unevenly, or a crack went along the nail? Everything can be fixed at home, you only need glue and silk. Beauty stores sell special glue for gluing tips. It's made from cyanoacrylate, but it's very different from hardware store superglue in how clean it is. It will not damage the nails, you can safely buy it. You can also buy chopped silk for repairing nails.
The desired pieces of silk are cut with scissors. Then, a drop of glue is applied to the prepared nail (cleaned and degreased), spread over the surface and the silk is sunk. If you need to increase the length - shift the silk from the nail, forming a free edge. You can glue it again for strength.
Glue quickly seizes with all adjoining objects. In order not to stick fingers, for the procedureyou will need tweezers. When the glue dries, file the shape of the free edge, while removing excess silk. Now you can paint the nail with varnish or gel polish.
Correction extension
If you can't always find the time to book a pedicure, getting toenails can help you discipline yourself. Although toenails grow more slowly than fingernails, over time the natural nail at the cuticle becomes visible. This is ugly and needs to be corrected. According to the plan, the correction on the legs is done in two to three weeks. If the design is boring, you can change it.
