A few words about the designer himself
Anna Sui was born in August 1964. Since childhood, she has been fascinated by the world of fashion. After graduating from high school in Detroit, Michigan, Sui moved to New York to attend Parsons School. Her first job in the fashion industry was as a stylist for shots by one of the best photographers Steven Meisel and as an editor for an Italian fashion magazine.
In 1980, Sui decided to move on and start her own business. At first, her own apartment served as her office.
In 1991 she had her first runway show. The New York Times immediately called her style a mixture of casual and high fashion. In thatthe same year, Anna Sui moved the company and showroom out of the apartment. In 1992, she opened her first boutique, and in 1993 she won a prestigious fashion industry award.
