When you turn to a lashmaker to improve your look, you can count on several types of eyelash extensions. This is a classic eyelash extension, 2D, 3D and Hollywood volume. What is the difference between these types of eyelash extensions? 3D, 2D - what does this mean for the layman, not for lash-making professionals, and which option is best to choose to look irresistible? In addition, it is important not to spoil the eyelashes with artificial material. Will 3D volume damage the beauty of the eyes after removing artificial cilia? We will discuss this topic in this post.
From classic to 3D
If we go back to the origins of eyelash extensions, then the first method mastered by the masters was beam extension. It is on beam extension that 3D eyelash extension training is based. Even 10 years ago there were no professional lash makers, and artificial materials were attached to their own before any event or photo shoot.
This look required showiness, not long wearing - eyelashes were removed immediately after the event. However, at the same time, it was noted that if not removed, artificial eyelashes can be worn for more than one day.
How did the build-up happen?
A ready-made bunch of artificial eyelashes was taken, and with the help of glue it clung to several of the client's own eyelashes at the base on top. This method is not very good, since it creates unnecessary pressure on your own eyelashes, it is not worn for a very long time (1-2 weeks if there is no interaction with water or other solvents), and if at least one bunch falls off before the others, then the eyelid will look like this, as if it has a "bald patch".
Over time, this method evolved into another technology of eyelash extension, that is, it was attached to the real one on an artificial blank. Masters who decided to engage in eyelash extensions began to be called lash makers. Eyelash extension has become a kind of profession. There are a lot of people who want to buy long eyelashes for a month - one and a half, especially in large cities. After all, here a spectacular appearance is of great importance.
To understand how 2D eyelash extensions differ from 3D eyelash extensions, you first need to figure out what a classic eyelash extension is, since it was it that became the start for the emergence of new trends in lashmaking.
Eyelash to eyelash
In any direction of art, fashion or makeup there is a so-called classic. This is something that will always remain in trend and appropriate in any case. If you take fashion, then this is a little black dress, classic pointed-toe stilettos. If we talk about makeup, then no matter how they changeeras and trends, black arrows and lipstick of an appropriate shade will be considered classic.
Let's get back to the topic of eyelash extensions. Eyelash extensions are a classic. This procedure takes place as follows. An additional eyelash, consisting of synthetic fiber or animal fur, is attached to each eyelash of the client with special glue.
The effect is very subtle and won't make those around you feel unnatural or doll-like. That is why eyelash extension is considered a classic, it is taught to a novice lashmaker. Subsequent trends in eyelash extensions, such as 2D and 3D, are in any case based on eyelash extensions. If you set out to become a lashmaker, this is where your training in this modern profession will begin.
Main difference
Over time, the classics began to seem boring to the masters, moreover, they were not effective enough for some events. Lashmakers decided to experiment with volume and make it bigger. The word volume is translated into English as dimension, and therefore 2D means double volume, and 3D means triple.
However, the masters did not stop at 2 and 3 volumes - you can be offered 4-, 5- and 6-volume extensions. True, by what technologies such a procedure is performed is a moot point. It is technically impossible to build 6 artificial eyelashes on one of your own.
What is the essence of volumeextensions?
If in eyelash extension one artificial eyelash is attached to each own eyelash, then in 2D two blanks are glued to each eyelash, respectively, a triple volume involves attaching three eyelashes. If we talk about 2D and 3D eyelash extensions, the only difference is this.
Eyelashes extended this way look chic, but unnatural. If, during eyelash extensions, an outside observer can decide that the girl was simply awarded by nature with such amazing eyelashes, then double and triple volume do not create such intrigue.
Harm caused by eyelash extensions: classic and 2D
Both 3D and 2D differ from classic eyelash extensions in that they do less harm to their own eyelashes. Why? It is clear that the extra weight of artificial fibers weakens the strength of your own eyelashes, and sometimes breaks them off. After removal, your own look more rare and short than before extensions.
With volume technique, you can do extensions through one eyelash. Due to the fact that there are a lot of them, it is possible to pass the client's own eyelashes through one or two. This extension is more useful for eyelashes and their beauty afterwards.
However, the masters say that even if you stick 2-3 eyelashes on each own eyelash in the right way, without weighing it down with glue, then the eyelashes will not be much harmed.
Which eyelashes to choose? Material quality
3D eyelash extensions, the effect of which is comparable to a doll, requires careful selectionmaterials. The first question beginner lash makers ask themselves is what kind of eyelashes do you need to get for work?
The domestic market offers us synthetic fibers, that is, from the finest plastic, and natural ones - most often from mink fur or silk. The latter are distinguished not only by a pleasant texture, but also by a more natural appearance. It was the extended mink eyelashes that actress Jennifer Lopez first "brought" to the audience in 2005.
However, the price of natural is higher than artificial, about 10-15 times. Of course, the consumption of the product is quite small, but is it worth paying more?
First of all, keep in mind that eyelash extensions in 3D volume require, first of all, thinness from cilia and low density. Mink fur is thicker than specially designed cilia. The second reason why you should choose an artificial product is that girls can be allergic to natural mink fur, unlike artificial ones, which are hypoallergenic.
Thickness of eyelashes for 3D extensions
The task of the lash maker is to create a voluminous extension in such a way that it does not weigh down the client's eyelids, and in addition, the cilia can be combed freely in any direction. For this reason, for eyelash extensions 3D lashes, you need to choose the minimum density of the material. That is, the synthetic material should be as thin as possible. Masters advise choosing 0.07 in density for 3D and 0.1-0.15 for 2D extensions. Such eyelashesare very light and do not damage their own.
Important: what eyelash extensions are afraid of
So you left the salon with beautiful long 3D eyelashes. Before returning to your traditional experience in life, take a closer look at what artificial fibers are afraid of, like fire. Agree, it is not rational to give a decent amount, endure the procedure for 2-3 hours, and then lose all this splendor in a day or two.
With the correct wearing of eyelashes, you can extend the period of "operation" up to one and a half months. At the same time, if you violate the elementary rules, you can lose up to 50% of eyelashes overnight. The first thing to remember is that artificial eyelashes, and in particular the glue with which they are attached, are afraid of oil and any oil-containing solutions. Therefore, any make-up or makeup remover containing this ingredient should be avoided.
Don't sleep with your face in the pillow
Eyelashes, glued with a special glue, hold pretty tight. However, after spending the night with your face buried in a duvet, in the morning you may find that most of the cilia have fallen off.
The second thing to worry about if you have eyelash extensions is that you should not visit baths and saunas. Hot steam and high temperatures destroy the adhesive's molecular bond.
Are eyelashes afraid of water? No, you can gently wash your face with ordinary or micellar water - the artificial splendor will not fall off. However, do not cry, becauses alt also acts destructively on glue. For the same reason, you should not dive headlong into the sea or into another body of water. This will keep you beautiful for a long time to come.
