The ability to perform French is a kind of sign of the master's quality. According to the work in this technique, one can judge the level of professionalism. And although today there are a huge number of training programs and courses dedicated to French manicure, you can learn the basics on your own.
But let's not mislead you: this case is not simple. Do not flatter yourself in advance and expect a quick result. Those who want to learn how to perform a stylish jacket with high quality will have to work hard, invest in materials and tools, and get ready for serious work. But believe me, your efforts will definitely be rewarded.
History
This variant of manicure, although called French, was not actually born in France. French once… saved Hollywood!
It was at the request of filmmakers that Jeff Pink, the founder of the ORLY brand, came up with a new nail design that would fit any outfit of actresses. The success was overwhelming. The trend quickly spread around the world. He was also appreciated by fashion designers, because he also fit the models perfectly. France, one of the world's fashion capitals, accepted the novelty with open arms and contributed a lot to its further promotion. Actually, thanks to this, we call this design French.
Since then, this design often flashes on screens, glossy pages, advertising photos. Ordinary women also fell in love with a stylish jacket, because it goes equally well with a business suit, evening dress and casual casual wear. It also goes well with all sorts of designs.
Materials
The classic version involves the use of a camouflage shade (pink, beige, peach) for the nail plate and white for the free edge. But fashion is democratic, so today you can often see photos of stylish French manicure in other shades in the portfolio of masters. Gamma can be almost any, camouflage is often combined with juicy and pastel shades, gold and silver.
In any case, you will need at least two shades of varnish, preferably contrasting. One of them is applied to the nail, the other stands out "smile" - the free edge.
Tool
You will need a bevelled brush or regular liner. To draw straight lines, many beginners use applicators and templates that allow you to make a neat design. Trying to draw a “smile” with a regular nail polish brush is not worth it, you will not achieve perfect clarity.
Smile shape
The main mistake of a beginner is a massive “smile” with an unexpressed bend and short"mustache". But a skilled craftsman can draw it in such a way as to visually make the shape of the nail more harmonious.
So that a stylish jacket on short nails does not look rude, the “smile” should be thin, and the antennae should be clear and neat. There is no need to make them too long, they should only reach the ingrown zone.
It is also important to remember that the “smile” should not at all repeat the line along which the nail fuses with the skin. This is especially important for those whose nails on different fingers differ in shape. Your task is to make them the same and as similar as possible to each other.
Stylish jacket with gel polish: technology and sequence of actions
If you only use gel polishes, not gel, and already have some experience, you can probably handle the French manicure.
- Perform hygiene procedures (treat the cuticle, remove the pterygium, give the ends the same shape and length, remove the old coating).
- Completely remove dust, degrease the nail.
- Apply primer, being careful not to get it on the skin.
- Cover the nail with base, leveling the surface. Turn the brush upside down with your nails so that the material is evenly distributed. An excellent solution can be a camouflage base - a product that many manufacturers offer. This will significantly reduce costs and time. Dry the base in the lamp.
- If you used a transparent material, cover the nail with colored varnish, being careful not to go too far on the end tohe didn't get fat. If your base is camo, skip this step.
- Carefully draw a "smile" line. You can use special applicators to get even stripes. Remember: after applying the varnish, you must immediately remove the applicator and only then polymerize the material.
- Cover your nails with a layer of top, trying to smooth the surface as much as possible, smoothing the border between camouflage and white. After drying, remove the stickiness if your material releases it during polymerization.
Pull-out jacket
This option is not suitable for a beginner, it requires experience, skill, a more complex tool. It requires an apparatus, and no nail file can replace a professional cutter in this case. According to the masters, it is advisable for anyone who wants to learn the beautiful art of making a lay-out jacket to attend courses and work out with an instructor.
Stylish jacket made in this technique looks very feminine and expensive. This is worth the effort! And to visualize how the process is going on, we will be helped by a video from the famous instructor and talented master - Tatyana Bugry.
To work you will need the following:
- Transparent sculpting gel.
- Camo material such as jelly gel.
- White material if the "smile" is solid.
- Design materials.
- Apparatus and cutter for sawdust "tongue".
- Gel brush.
- Degreaser.
- Lamp.
- Clamps.
- Forms.
- 100/180 grit file
- Top if you are using non-single phase gels.
Steps of work:
- Preparation of nail plates, degreasing.
- Setting shapes and forming a free edge with a transparent gel.
- Sawdust.
- Formation of a "tongue" with camouflage material. Drying, processing the edge with a cutter, the formation of "antennae".
- Cuticle treatment. It is important to do this at this stage, when the sawdust of the gel is made. If you process the cuticle in advance, it is easy to damage it with a file.
- Laying white material butt-to-camouflage, drying with clips, final shape correction.
- Design execution. Top coat if necessary.
You can make a smile not only white. The folding jacket is great for performing aquarium design, gradient, Chinese painting. You can decorate the free edge at your discretion. It is important to ensure that the nails have the same shape.
Usually this technique is used for arch extensions. Ideal for nails with complex architecture such as pipe, bridge, age, stiletto and more.
Season Trends
French white and beige manicure is a real classic, but you should pay attention to other stylish french ideas. In the new season, stylists advise you to look at neon again - it is back in fashion. You can draw a "smile" with one of the luminescent colors.
The real hit is leopard prints, and this also applies to manicure. For example, you can apply a “predatory” pattern on the nails of the ring fingers completely, and on the rest they cover only “smiles” with it.
Rhinestones, according to stylists, are gradually losing popularity, but they are still relevant in festive manicure. And the inlay fits perfectly with the French manicure: the manicure combines simplicity and luxury, it looks sophisticated, but at the same time very elegant (of course, if you don’t overdo it with stones).
For the most part, you can realize any bold idea. Creativity remains the main trend and is unlikely to ever go out of fashion.
