In fact, the French ombre manicure is a familiar gradient. Only it is performed in such a way as to emphasize the smile line. The usual French manicure technique involves contrasting, clearly traced nail tips, and applying ombre polish will soften the "smile", allow you to achieve a smooth transition of color from natural to white.
Of course, nothing prevents you from applying a colored French manicure in the ombre technique, for example, highlighting the tips of your nails in black, red, or even making them multi-colored.
What colors are better not to take for an ombre?
To make the perfect ombre French manicure, you need to learn how to combine colors correctly. And for this we turn to theory. Below in the photo is a color wheel.
Pay attention not only to what colors are opposite each other, but also to the fact that in the middle of the circle there is a pure color, to the center - diluted with white, to the edges - black. SoThus, on the orange line we see a stretch from peach to brown. As for graphic nail design, you can take any color from one line and combine it with any color from the opposite strip, and it will all be harmonious, although different in impression. For example, we take pure bright orange and bright blue. These two colors in the neighborhood will seem even brighter. But mixing them will give gray, they cancel each other out, so if you want to use these two colors in a gradient, you definitely need transition colors: green and yellow. For a gradient of two shades, you need to take either colors from one line, creating transitions from light to dark, or from neighboring ones, otherwise you risk getting dirt on your nails.
How to do an ombre french manicure
For it you will need: varnishes (flesh + white or any colors to taste), sponge or foam rubber, nail polish remover, synthetic brush or cotton swabs, adhesive tape - optional. Lacquers should have good pigmentation. It is better to take a fine-grained sponge, but not too much. Makeup sponges tend to be too thick and won't absorb nail polish, while dish sponges are too large and the gradient looks rough. Best of all - the usual packaging foam rubber. It has small cells, but at the same time sufficient to absorb the varnish. A synthetic brush is very convenient to correct the line at the cuticle and remove excess varnish, but here you can use any methods that suit you.
So, the sequence of actions is as follows:
1) Nailsprepare, do manicure. The most time-consuming part is the removal of excess varnishes, so you should look in advance for the most convenient options. For example, you can apply a greasy cream to the skin around the nails or seal the skin with tape as much as possible.
2) Lacquer strips can be applied directly to the sponge, or you can take cellophane (for example, an unnecessary file), draw two stripes on it and mix the border between the two varnishes with a toothpick to achieve an even smoother transition. But if the foam rubber is suitable, there is no special need for this intermediate action. Varnishes should be applied greasy, because they are partially absorbed. You can cover the nail completely with the base color, and apply only white on the sponge. And with quick dabbing motions, create a smooth transition to white, touching once or twice where you need only a hint of white, and many times where the white color should be bright.
3) If you chose the option with two colors - the sponge is applied to the nail. You should not press hard on the sponge - this is how the cells of the sponge are imprinted and the design turns out to be sloppy. The pressure should be moderate. Then the sponge is removed, you can immediately see how successful the design is. You can make several nails in a row using the same varnishes once applied to the sponge. But it is still better to repeat this process for each nail: varnishes on the sponge, sponge to the nail. Otherwise, there is a risk of getting a print that is too pale, which will have to be completely redone.
4) When the French ombre manicure is ready on all nails, proceed to the final steps: excess varnish on the skin aroundnails are washed (it is better not to delay with this, the fresher the manicure, the easier it is to correct its shortcomings), dried, covered with a top.
Ombre French manicure: other ways
Airbrushing is another way to get an amazing ombre french manicure. Of course, this method is available mainly to professionals, since an airbrush with a full set of necessary equipment (compressor, stencils) costs about twenty thousand rubles, and not every woman, even a passionate lover of nail design, is ready to purchase a thing of such a narrow purpose for personal use. In any case, the stretch made with an airbrush will be perfect: with completely imperceptible, smooth color transitions. The airbrush was invented over a hundred years ago for artistic purposes. Its appearance has changed, today it is a small device, shaped like a pen for writing. It not only sprays paint, but also gives you the ability to adjust the spray density.
These are the main modern ways to create an ombre effect on nails.
