Remy Latour is perhaps the most enigmatic perfumer in history. Also under the veil of its mystery is the very history of the appearance of the Remi Latour brand. Unfortunately, there is no official information about how the brand appeared, since Remy himself chose not to flaunt everything. To date, true fans of Remi Latour can enjoy a considerable number of fragrances, but we will consider only 8 of the most popular.
The first appeared in 1993 and was called Lune d'Ete. The sunny composition was filled with floral and fruity aromas and evoked thoughts of a summer day. The next in line was Attractive eau de toilette for women, which, having a really delicate and aristocratic aroma, fully corresponded to its name. It was this perfume that soon gave the brand Remy Latour its own unusual style.
However, the first best-seller in the perfume world was Cigar eau de toilette for men, released in 1996. This collection of fragrances literally blew up the market and remained the undisputed leader until the end of the century.
New Cigar Collection
The long silence of the French brand led to the release of as many as five compositions under the names Silver Essence, Aromatic Amber, Mystic Scent, Bois de Cachemire and Essence de Bois Precieux, addressed to the stronger sex. As for the remaining three, Latour introduced them to the beautiful half of humanity and came up with the following names for them:
- Iris of Florence;
- Rose Noire;
- Jasmin de Grasse;
- Vanille Tonka.
Remy discovered the similarity of perfume with cigars in the richness of shades that the sense of smell can catch, and in the long process of creation. The result of complex processing is 8 fragrances that reflect the lifestyle of only those who are able to appreciate and understand the palette of tastes. According to Latour, the secrets of manufacturing and a large number of nuances of creation significantly affect what the final product will be - a pass-through product or a real masterpiece.
Each type of cigar has its own flavor: their range includes chocolate, vanilla, resinous, woody, leathery and botanical tones. It is this similarity that inspired Remy and his team of perfumers to create the mesmerizing Cigara collection of men's eau de toilette.
Fragrance "For Him"
- "Aromatic Amber" - a woody composition with oriental notes. The perfume opens with a sonorous roll call of bergamot and pepper with a layer of nutmeg. With the transition to heart notes, tension subsides a bit and softened shades of lavender and orange flowers are felt. Classic coniferous vanillathe finale is completed by musk in tandem with amber.
- Eau de toilette "Cigar Bois de Cashmere" - a delicious and attractive mix of bergamot, lotus, rhubarb and watermelon, smoothly turning into fresh notes of the heart. Here, against the backdrop of sea water, the enveloping shade of cashmere wood cleverly highlights the chords of white rose and notes of sage. The sexy masculine composition is completed by oakmoss, musk, tonka bean and amber.
- Eau de toilette "Cigar Esans de Bois Precieux" becomes the completion of the oriental tonality, where a wave of incense and spices immediately covers its listener. The harmonious combination of cinnamon, oregano, cardamom, saffron and frankincense is successfully supported by the woody heart notes of papyrus, cashmere wood, patchouli and cedar. It’s hard not to agree with this, because those who saw the appearance of the collection in 1996 unanimously say that for so many years not a single fragrance has changed - it is just as tobacco, recognizable and resembles adult business men that boys wanted to be like.
But for more than 20 years, nothing is known about the Remi Latour brand. But the perfumer's previously created fragrances are still a success and are in high demand among consumers. Who knows, maybe this lull is just a respite before the resounding return of the enigmatic Remy Latour.
