In recent years, graphic design in manicure has gained great popularity. Especially often it is chosen by young girls who do not really like floral patterns and excessive decorativeness. The advantages of such designs are not only that they look unhackneyed, expressive and bold. With the help of graphic lines, you can emphasize the beauty of the nails, as well as hide some of the not-so-nice features of the natural form.
Graphic design in the art of manicure
Clear lines of different thicknesses, mosaics, colored and transparent "windows", color blocking are the main elements of style.
More often used are straight lines, parallel or intersecting at different angles. But rounded elements are also acceptable in design. The design can consist of both large blocks and small, detailed ones.
The most commonly used materials include:
- acrylic and gelpaint;
- powder, velvet sand, colored sprinkles;
- rhinestones, opals, half-pearl beads;
- Sinju stones, shell fragments;
- kamifubuki of various regular shapes, "dragon scales";
- "broken glass";
- foil, gold leaf.
Stamping plates and sliders with graphic design will be a great help for the master. You can use a novelty in your work - a gel-"cobweb", which allows you to apply multiple thin lines. The main working tool for performing manicure with graphic design can be considered a linear brush, but you can also use a regular stationery liner.
Actual colors
Today, the gamma of noble purple is in trend. Natural shades are very popular: swamp, sand, clay red, terracotta, muted blue. These tones are especially good for matte manicure.
Fans of juicy shades of berries and fruits can give free rein to their imagination. Graphic designs look great in monochrome black and white or with the addition of silver.
Execution technique
Before designing, think over the concept, decide whether all nails or only some of them will be covered with graphic patterns. Separately, the nails of the ring fingers are traditionally isolated, but this is not a strict rule, you can experiment with any. Recently, thumb nail designs have been gaining popularity.
Carry out all hygiene procedures, process the side rollers and cuticles, polishthe surface of the nails. File the ends so that the nails become the same size and shape, if necessary, grow the missing corners with a gel or a base mixed with acrylic powder (if the damage is small). Remember: graphic design with its straight lines and angles is only suitable for the correct shape of the nails. Flaws and negligence will be all too visible.
Degrease the surface. Apply primer and let it air dry for at least a minute. Cover the nails with a base, trying to level the surface, dry in a lamp. That's all, you can start designing.
Thin lines
This version of a graphic manicure looks simple, but this is precisely its trump card. Nails look sophisticated and elegant, and thanks to a discreet range that is pleasing to the eye, it will look appropriate even in the office. This design will be combined with any clothes.
As a base, you can choose a beige or peach varnish. Apply it in 1-3 layers, depending on the pigmentation. You can go the other way and immediately use the camouflage base.
Draw stripes and arrows better with gel paint or paste. The line will be clearer than the one that can be done with acrylic. A liner can also be used for decoration, but the thickness of the rod should not be too small, otherwise the lines will not be visible.
The brush must be used synthetic with a short pile. Having dipped it in paint, do not rush to draw. Rub the brush a little on the palette so that the paint is evenly distributed between the fibers, then the lines will turn outcrisp.
Sliders with similar elements are also on sale. Their use greatly speeds up the process. You just need to cut out the necessary elements and briefly lay them on a sponge moistened with water with the decorative side up. When the film with the pattern is detached from the base, simply pry it off with tweezers and transfer it to the nail. After leveling the pattern with an orange stick or a silicone brush, let it dry a little, then cover with a base, dry and apply a top. You can complement the design with a small amount of black bouillon or dots drawn with dots.
Color transition
Today such options are a real trend. Along with gentle color transitions, clear, concise lines are also popular in gradient designs, in which shades change sharply, without blurring.
In the photo, a graphic manicure with a color transition looks rich and catchy, it may even seem that a whole palette of shades of the same gamut is needed to implement such an idea.
In fact, we only need two colors: white and burgundy. The rest of the shades are mixed from them.
This design is performed from the cuticle towards the end. If you're not sure you can handle even lines and angles, use sticky applicators.
On the palette, drop one drop of white and beige varnish at a short distance from each other. Cover the first triangle at the nail growth zone with burgundy varnish and dry in a lamp. Mix a little white varnish with a burgundy drop to soften the color. Draw a strip and dry. In the same way, mixing white varnish drop by drop, get the following shades and paint over the remaining strips.
An important point: if you make such a transition on several nails, draw on all at once. It is difficult to repeat the resulting shade, it will take extra time. Once you've got the color you want, work on each nail step by step before mixing in the white drop for the next stripe.
When finished, cover the design with a top coat and paint the rest of the nails as you wish. You can complement the design with inlaid transparent or burgundy rhinestones.
Negative space
Such transparent inserts are very easy to make, but they add zest to any design, due to the fact that they create the effect of depth.
This trendy graphic manicure can be done on both your own and extended nails. If you cover natural nails, it is advisable to use a camouflage base. Apply it in a thin layer and dry. Then carefully draw a beige stripe on one side and a light blue one on the other. Work the space between them with a thick transparent base. Make thin layers, drying each one. When you get the desired coating density, evaluate the result, if necessary, trim the nail with a transparent base. Stick thin black stripes on the border between the colored areas and the transparent one. Cover with a deep gloss top.
To make the manicure look like a completed composition, add the same black stripes on a few more nails.
If you use the methodextensions, the first layer of gel should be camouflage. You need to add volume, make alignment and form the apex zone with a transparent sculpting gel. This will give you the depth of the drawing.
Contrast textures
The use of matte, glossy and velvet surfaces in one design is a common design technique for graphic manicure.
This option will look very good on short nails, but it will also work for medium length and extended nails of any shape.
To create a textured surface, you can use velvet sand, fine glitter, velor sprinkles or acrylic powder. In design, you can also use velor, matte, satin top - any that is in the arsenal. Even a simple drawing will look impressive.
The procedure is as follows. Nail, at the base of which there will be a sand design, cover with beige varnish and dry. Cover with top, polymerize and remove stickiness. Paint over the area near the cuticle with varnish of the same color as the sand (for example, gray). Dry. Draw a triangle with the base, and then, without drying, sprinkle with black sand and send it to the lamp, not forgetting that in such cases the time should be doubled. Then draw the next sector with the base and also cover with sand a tone lighter (wet asph alt). After drying, apply gray sand to the third sector in the same way. Do not forget to remove the remaining sand every time after drying with a hard sweep. It is not necessary to cover the sand with a top.
BFinish off with a few crisp strokes using the linear brush and gel paint.
