Many people are very interested in what Anatoly Alexandrovich Wasserman keeps in his famous vest? And why are there so many pockets on Wasserman's vest? For a long time, Anatoly himself did not answer these questions, so you could come across many fantastic versions about the contents of his pockets. They talked about the family of mice living in one of them, and about the collection of ancient scimitars, and about the classified elements of the faulty Columbia shuttle module, and about the details from the crashed flying saucer. Recently, Anatoly Wasserman told Idea X magazine what is in his pockets, and now, having studied this interview and other materials, we will share what Wasserman said. Photos in a vest clearly demonstrate his affection for this piece of clothing.
History of the vest: from 1986 to the present day
Vests withVasserman has been wearing a huge number of pockets since 1986. In the early years, he sewed them with his own hands, and when hunting models began to appear on sale, he decided to buy and sew on those necessary pockets that were not there. For the past five years, Anatoly Aleksandrovich has been ordering vests from a company that specializes in tailoring workwear.
It is often written that the vest of one of the most intelligent people in our country has 28 pockets, but this is an error resulting from the Wasserman clause. He incorrectly answered a question during an interview, in fact, there are only 26 pockets in the latest models. By the way, this figure is an absolute record for the number of pockets among all vests of Anatoly Alexandrovich. Therefore, the one that we will consider is the most modern and modernized Wasserman vest. The contents of each department we will now consider.
Back top pocket
We will begin our review of this legendary and unique vest from the back top pocket, which contains the book "The Federalist", bought by Anatoly Alexandrovich a long time ago, but all this time he managed to read it only in fits and starts in between important matters, of which Wasserman has a lot.
A cassette recorder is located next to the Federalist. Many may consider it a hoary antiquity or even a museum exhibit, but Anatoly Alexandrovich himself, despite the fact that he switched to digital, believes that in extreme situations, which happen quite often with an active lifestyle, it is easier to transfer to someoneordinary film cassette than a digital file.
Since we are talking about the active life of Anatoly Aleksandrovich, full of adventures and frequent travels from one place to another, we cannot but mention the inflatable neck pillow located in the back top pocket. It allows Wasserman to comfortably take a nap and gain strength during trips, flights, or even in the radio studio, during commercial breaks. It is worth adding that Anatoly Aleksandrovich most often uses taxi services to move around the city, since he does not have a personal car.
Well, we see and begin to understand how functional the Wasserman vest is. The photos below will confirm this.
Back bottom pocket
In the back lower pocket of Wasserman's vest is an umbrella that folds automatically. It is placed so well that Anatoly Alexandrovich even joked that he does not take it out not only in autumn, but also in winter.
Top row, right pocket
Now move on to the top row of pockets and start on the right side. Here lies a spool of very thin metal fishing line, which Anatoly Alexandrovich uses as a sewing thread.
Next to it, a plastic box is very compactly packed, in which large sewing needles and a crochet hook with a cap are stored. True, Wasserman does not know how to knit, but, according to him, it is convenient to pick up various trifles from narrow slots with this hook. Perhaps this use of a crochet hook Anatoly Alexandrovichoften comes in handy, but we can only guess about it.
The lantern next to the box with a miniature incandescent bulb may be needed by Wasserman in the same cases as a crochet hook, because otherwise it is not possible for us to explain the meaning of constantly wearing this thing in a vest. If you want to take a closer look at the Wasserman vest, the photos below will help you with this.
Top row, left pocket
Consider the left pocket of the same row. A 5x25 monocular is stored here, in other words, a miniature spyglass with five times magnification. I would like to note that this is a really necessary thing that can be useful in everyday life for almost every person.
In the same pocket there is a box of licorice lozenges, this is Anatoly Alexandrovich's long-term stock, because, unfortunately, this delicacy was no longer imported to Moscow. Next to the sweets are two flash drives with a capacity of 4 and 8 GB. What information is stored on these electronic media, we can only guess.
Middle row, right semi-hidden pocket
In the middle row on the right there is a semi-hidden pocket, the clasp of which is located under the arm. It contains internal and foreign passports of a citizen of Ukraine, as well as a collection of old banknotes. For what purpose Wasserman constantly carries obsolete banknotes with him, we could not find out. However, Anatoly Alexandrovich certainly has convincing reasons for this.
Middle row, second layer, rightmostpocket
In the second layer of the middle row is a compact digital camera. Near him is a cardboard cover for documents, in which Anatoly Alexandrovich keeps official certificates for his knives, which he also always has with him. As we can see, Anatoly Aleksandrovich takes absolutely everything into account.
More to the right are the keys to the Odessa apartment, where Wasserman may suddenly need to urgently leave, and a lantern with nine LEDs. And besides this, several ballpoint pens, felt-tip pens, a collet pencil with a lead 2.2 mm wide and a sharpener for various knives. The Wasserman vest is full of surprises and makes a lasting impression.
Middle row, front layer, right pocket near zipper
Go to the front layer. In the pocket next to the clasp are safety pins of various sizes. A disinfectant pencil is kept near the pins, probably for wound care.
Here is a collection of Soviet cardboard tickets for the Moscow metro, issued in honor of the holidays and various anniversaries. It is unlikely that they will find any practical use.
In the same pocket is a tape measure, a miniature siren whistle and the same miniature screwdriver with interchangeable heads.
Bottom row, back layer, right pocket
In one of the pockets of the bottom row, Wasserman's vest stores several atlases: the world, Moscow, taxis of Odessa and the Moscow region. There is also a box for business cards, which contains a spare SIM card, as well aswallet with old notes. What exactly is written in it, we most likely will never know.
Well, the list is getting more and more interesting, let's see what else the Wasserman vest hides in its depths.
Bottom row, second layer, right pocket
Here we can see a small solar-powered calculator, as well as a service telephone directory, which is a printout on small leaves.
In addition, this pocket contains a list of Anatoly Alexandrovich's books, which he needs in order to avoid accidentally buying a second copy of some work while wandering through bookstores.
Middle row, front layer, left outer pocket
In addition to the contents of the previous pocket, business cards are stored here that have not yet been entered into the phone book.
Several packs of bactericidal patches and spare 0.5 mm leads are stored near the cards. There is also a gas lighter, neatly placed nearby, which allows Wasserman to light a fire even in extreme circumstances. And with the help of a can of pepper spray stored in the same pocket, you can protect yourself from the attack of ill-wishers.
Bottom Row, Front Layer, Right Outer Pocket
In the pocket, located on the right edge of the bottom row, bank and discount cards familiar to all of us are folded. And next to them lie rather unusual objects - a set of tweezers with sponges of various shapes and miniature optical discs withdifferent versions of the Linux operating system. We do not undertake to make assumptions about the functional purpose of such a combination of items.
The same pocket holds a miniature sponge for cleaning shoes (Anatoly Aleksandrovich really appreciates his shoes and always keeps them in perfect condition), a guillotine for cigars (although Wasserman does not smoke and has never used it) and plastic medicine organizer. Hidden beneath it all is a pair of subminiature folding knives, which one of Wasserman's acquaintances said is hard to see with the naked eye. One can only guess how exciting Anatoly Wasserman is spending his time. Photos in a vest confirm that he is ready for any unforeseen situation.
Middle row, left semi-hidden pocket (clasp - under the arm)
Documents are stored here: an invalid internal passport of a citizen of the USSR, on which there is no photo, a foreign passport of a citizen of Ukraine, which is also invalid due to obsolescence, and in addition, a foreign passport of a citizen of the USSR with a seal of Ukrainian citizenship, which is also invalid.
A valid work book of Anatoly Alexandrovich is kept in the same pocket.
Middle row, second layer, left outer pocket
Wasserman's vest keeps many more unusual and amazing items.
Looking at the pockets of the middle row, in the leftmost one you can find a combined magnifying glass: with a quadruple and a tenfold insert. Here are two copies of one of thethe most convenient household appliances of the Soviet era - a hook for hanging bags under the table. These magnificent hooks have long and irretrievably disappeared from store shelves and, apparently, remained only in Anatoly Wasserman's vest.
Middle row, front layer, left middle pocket
In the next pocket you can find another pack of Soviet cardboard tickets for the Moscow metro, the purpose of which Anatoly Alexandrovich nevertheless explained. He uses the blank side to write down addresses and sign autographs. And he uses them, because the Soviet cardboard is strong and does not wear out at all.
Near the pack of tickets is another combined magnifying glass, two-fold with an eight-fold insertion, a cassette with a set of sewing needles and six dice are securely attached here. Anatoly Wasserman said that he used to be fond of gambling, but he played only with colleagues and only for the result.
Middle row, front layer, left vertical zipper pocket
This pocket can be called "stationery". Stored here are ballpoint pens, a paper cutter, a set of nail files of different sizes, a metal comb (Wasserman jokes that soon there will be nothing to comb with), and an 810 extendable spyglass that can only be used in daylight.
Bottom row, front layer, left outer pocket
Let's return to the bottom layer and find in the left pocket a set of tools in a strong plastic case, several invalid identification cards (why carry so manyinvalid documents, we cannot explain), library cards from the Odessa, Russian and other libraries, painkillers, and another gas lighter. Truly, with such a set of things, it is difficult to imagine a situation for which Anatoly Alexandrovich would not be ready. On the other hand, it is no less difficult to imagine in what circumstances many of the artifacts already listed could be used.
How much does the vest weigh
Now we know what Wasserman wears in a vest. It remains to answer one more equally important question of interest to Runet users. Namely: how much does Wasserman's vest weigh? After studying many different sources of information, we found out the exact answer: approximately seven kilograms, the severity may vary depending on Anatoly's mood and weather conditions.
We saw that Anatoly Wasserman's vest is one of the most unusual artifacts of our time. The very concept of a vest with a huge number of pockets that store things for any occasion is amazing.
This piece of clothing is a unique and valuable item. Many Russians buy or order models similar to the Wasserman vest. Some even claim that with his idea, Anatoly Alexandrovich gave rise to a new trend in fashion - wearing a vest.
It cannot be said that the vest is not the only unusual piece of clothing by Anatoly Wasserman. In addition to him, Anatoly Aleksandrovich wears unique trousers.
Perhaps parsing a huge amount ofvarious intricate mechanisms of these trousers and an inventory of the contents of the pockets will also be carried out someday.
So, this was a review of Anatoly Wasserman's vest.
