Shellac stays on nails much longer than a regular manicure, namely 2-3 weeks. And since it is so strong, then, accordingly, it will take a little more time to remove it than usual. For this, a special Shellac remover is used. You can, of course, replace it with ordinary acetone, but professionals do not recommend doing this, since the latter adversely affects the condition of the nails. They become brittle, weakened, lose their he althy appearance.
Shellac Removers
Of course, using this or that tool to remove Shellac at home is an individual decision, and the possibility of using ordinary or cosmetic acetone (and sometimes even just nail polish remover, which contains acetone) no one does not cancel. The procedure is the same anyway.
Required tools and materials
To orderTo remove Shellac, you will need:
- special winding (can be replaced with cotton pads and foil);
- orange stick (to remove the remnants of the coating after exposure);
- Shellac cnd remover (can be replaced with regular or cosmetic acetone, or use nail polish remover with acetone).
Removal procedure
Initially, you need to wash your hands well with soap and water (or feet if you are removing a pedicure). Then Shellac remover is applied to a special winding and the fingertips are wrapped around it (as in the photo). If cotton pads are used, then they must be divided into two parts to make two thin disks. Each of them must be cut to make "half-disks". They are also wetted with a product (or acetone), wrapped around the fingertips, and wrapped with foil on top.
After 10-15 minutes, the windings can be removed. This period of time is long enough for the Shellac remover to work and for the acetone to loosen the coating. The latter is then easily removed from the nails with a whole film. If this does not happen to the end and individual grains remain, then you can remove them with an orange stick, this is done very easily.
After the procedure, it will be useful to apply oil on the nails and rub it in with light massage movements.
If it becomes necessary to do a manicure again, you can start it right away, starting with adjusting the shape of the nails.
Instead of a conclusion
As you can see, the procedure for removing the Shellac coating does not take too much time and proceeds quite easily. No special skills are required for this. All you need to do is prepare the Shellac remover, the wrapping, and you're good to go.
It should be noted that when using a special liquid, you can remove a boring manicure at least every day. It won't do any harm to your nails. This is one of the most important differences (and at the same time advantages) of a specialized liquid from acetone and other products in which it is included. This indicates that the tool really does not have negative effects on the nail plates, they remain he althy even with frequent use of the liquid.
