Many outstanding figures of Russian culture set themselves the goal of glorifying their native country at the international level. It is important for them that the world learns about the original Slavic traditions and outstanding masters. A prominent representative is Ulyana Sergienko (Ulyana Sergeenko). At the world level, the fashion house with her name successfully represents the Russian show business. Along with "Givenchy", European fashionistas and connoisseurs of haute couture clothes also know the brand "Ulyana Sergeenko".
Restrained sexy
The success of the brand was predicted in advance, because gorgeous dresses, skirts, bodysuits and many other wardrobe items really deserve special attention. Every detail of any of the things is thought out as fully as possible. There is no flashy eccentricity in the clothing collections, everything is restrained, strict and at the same time elegant and sexy.
Who is designer Ulyana Sergienko, and how did it happen that the dresses released from under the girl's sewing machine became insanely popular? Let's find out.
Childhood andfashion designer youth
On the hot penultimate day of the summer of 1981, a girl was born in the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk. The baby's parents (philologists by profession) named their child by the original Russian name Ulyana. From childhood, the girl was different from her peers. No, she was a great student. But at the same time, a grain of discontent grew in her, she did not like the school uniform, she did not want to be “like everyone else”, Ulyana wanted to stand out. This has often been a stumbling block in relationships with teachers and peers.
The girl knew English very well since childhood. In order to improve her skills, Ulyana Sergienko goes to London. From a young age, the girl wanted to become a brave and strong woman, able to go through all obstacles. She also dreamed of fashion.
Be a model? Tough question…
In 1997 Ulyana's family moved from Kazakhstan to St. Petersburg. There, for the first time, she took a step towards conquering the pinnacle of glamorous show business, the girl starred in an advertisement for a famous brand of shampoo. But she did not continue her modeling career, although both her parents and relatives advised her to go to Paris. Instead, Ulyana enters a humanitarian university.
Several years after graduation are covered with a veil of secrecy. According to unverified rumors, none other than Peter Listerman opened the way to high fashion for Ulyana. At that time, the girl already had a child from some kind of crime boss, with whom she safely broke up.
Marriage and social life
After some time, Ulyana Sergeenko meets the insurance magnate Daniil Khachaturov, the head of Rosgosstrakh. Without thinking twice, the couple tied the knot. Since 2009, there has been a replenishment in the country's secular lionesses, and Ulyana Sergienko has also been added to the camp of beauties. Photos of the girl now and then flash on the covers of famous magazines. She attends numerous world-class events: High Fashion Week in London is followed by similar events in Paris, Milan and New York. The dream of becoming a designer gradually grows stronger in the girl.
Retro runway style
In 2011, a significant event for the whole fashion world and for Ulyana herself takes place, and her debut collection is released. Oksana Lavrentyeva, who is familiar to the fashion world from the Alexander Terekhov brand, helped the girl to work on the creation of dresses. Even then, the clothes of the collection contained notes of Russian traditions and original culture: details in the retro style of the Stalin era, which were fashionable in the early 20s of the 20th century, long puffy skirts, restrained and at the same time flirtatious accessories and shoes - all this led to the wild success of the designer's first couture creation.
All the main trends of the outgoing season of 2011 successfully exist in almost the entire debut line. Skirts of the maximum length, made of chiffon, muslin and batiste, look quite organically with elements made of coarser materials: flaush, damask and buret.
Public recognition
After the show, the designer opened in Moscowyour first boutique. It is noteworthy that even at the moment, when the fashion designer's clothes are wildly popular, the number of places where you can buy your favorite item is limited. This only indicates that the clothes of the fashion house are not for everyone, but, so to speak, for a small select part of the population. This fact is confirmed by the price. The cost of a dress or skirt rarely drops below the four-figure dollar mark.
However, the high cost does not scare European and Russian fashionistas in any way, and the bright Slavic flavor that is present in every designer item, the absence of even a hint of symbolism and futurism attract great public attention.
Thanks to the successful debut of the couture house "Ulyana Sergeenko" ("Ulyana Sergienko"), dresses, coats, skirts and bodysuits of this brand have become the chosen inhabitants of the wardrobes of many celebrities. Anna Dello Russo, Astrid Munoz, Karine Roitfeld, Suzy Menkes, Ksenia Sobchak, Natalia Vodianova and many other representatives of show business and high fashion happily dressed in magnificent outfits from the Russian fashion designer. Patrick Demarchelier, Tim Blanks, Tommy Ton - even these great "whales" that hold European fashion, recognized the magnificence of the girl's collection.
Continuing a successful start
"Russian Lady" is how the West speaks respectfully of Ulyana. Several years have passed since the successful debut. Over the years, the model house has released several more collections. And, remarkably, all of them are worthy of attention. Each of the collectionsfull of bright details and sensual silhouettes. The only thing that unites all models is the retro style. Many dresses and skirts are made exclusively in strict Soviet traditions. And they are not at all spoiled by additional elements abounding in colors and various motifs. Not at all. This is a kind of "highlight" that Ulyana Sergienko gives to her every creation. The designer's clothes are in great demand both domestically and abroad. No obstacles interfere with the creative impulses of the girl. Even problems in personal life only have a positive effect on the new creations of the couturier.
In 2013, the public was agitated by the news of the divorce of Khachaturov and Sergeenko. However, this in no way prevented Ulyana from presenting her new spring-summer collection to the audience. As always, each piece in the new range is elegant, understated and sexy at the same time.
