Clothes in the life of a modern person plays an important role and is one of its most important aspects. It is an indicator of we alth and status in society, a way of self-expression. Some people treat her quite calmly and evenly. Others have a strong weakness, and for them it can be a matter of pride or envy. By the appearance of a person, it is easy to determine which category of people he belongs to, the nature of his activities, interests, belonging (possibly) to some subculture.
It is natural that people have completely different tastes and what one likes will not always be to the liking of another. But still, what, in your opinion, is the most popular item of men's clothing? Pants? Costume? T-shirt? Anything else? Perhaps one of the most popular types of men's clothing can be called shirts (shirts). They can be attributed to everyday clothes, and to festive, and to sports, and to business, and to an independent look, and to a part of any ensemble of several components. Therefore, at least sometimes any man uses this wardrobe item.
Situations in life are different, and sometimes there can be a problemchoosing the right size. Men's shirt sizes have their own characteristics. Let's take a look at them.
To determine the size, you need to know the volume of the neck in inches or centimeters. It is measured around the neck under the larynx. And also you need to find out the length of the sleeve - this is the distance from the middle of the neck, over the shoulder and elbow, to the wrist. It turns out that men's shirt sizes consist of two parts: neck volume and sleeve length. For example, 17 ½ and 37-38. If during the measurement it turned out not an integer, but, for example, 37.5, then you need to round it up to an integer and up.
Remember that 1 inch=2.54 cm. Knowing this, you can easily convert inches to centimeters and vice versa.
There are international (European and American) standards, where all sizes are indicated by letter values:
XS (Extra Small) - very small shirt sizes;
S (Small) - small sizes;
M (Middle) - medium size shirts;
L (Large) - men's shirts in large sizes;
XL (Extra Large) - extra large size;
XXL (Double Extra Large) - huge size.
But American letter values tend to be smaller than European ones. Those. if you know that your size is european size m, but the size on the tag is american, then choose size s, etc.
Some, choosing men's shirts, determine the sizes “the old fashioned way” - measure the chest circumference and divide the result by two. For example, when measuring your chest, you got 92. So, your size is 46. Given that there is a size “fork”, your shirt will be tagged with a size 46-48.
Russian men's shirt sizes correspond to European ones as follows:
XS=44-46;
S=46-48;
M=48-50;
L=50-52;
XL=52-54;
XXL=54-56.
I would also like to give some tips for choosing a shirt:
- new shirt should fit a little loose;
- there should be a small distance between the collar and the neck (when the top button is fastened);
- the collar of the shirt should protrude from under the jacket by about 1 cm;
- when you put on the shirt, there should be no wrinkles on the collar.
Having a clear idea of what men's shirt sizes are, as well as how to distinguish, determine and select them, you can quickly and easily choose a shirt for yourself or someone as a gift and be sure that that it will fit perfectly and the owner will be pleased.
