Important! Jeans should definitely be washed, because after washing they “shrink” a little, that is, they tend to return to their original, rather than stretched position.
The resulting number must be multiplied by 2, and then (if the measurements were taken in centimeters) divided by 2, 54.
Thus, the W indicator will be obtained. But, given that not new, but already worn pants were measured, the size must be adjusted by subtracting one. For example, after “taking measurements” from jeans, the value was 45 centimeters, we consider:
- 452 / 2, 54=36, 2.
- Subtract one from it, i.e. 36, 2 - 1=35, 2.
- The result is W35, which is the W value on the product label.
Calculation of L
This parameter cannot be determined by the Russian size of jeans,since it is important to know not the height of a person, but the length of his legs. It is different for all people, even if they are the same height. To measure L, take a tape measure or measuring tape and measure the length along the inside seam from the crotch to the edge of the leg.
When measuring in centimeters, the resulting value must be divided by 2.54 (this is done to convert centimeters to inches). The result obtained will be the value of L.
